This trip was our first with our aging beagle, Max. I worried: would he be comfortable? But Southern Oaks has a dedicated dog park with agility course, fenced area, shade, and water bowls. Max made canine friends immediately.
Mornings, I’d walk him along shaded paths while catching up with other pet owners. At midday, he napped under the rig while we went kayaking or fishing. Evenings, he curled by the door while we attended Bingo or line dancing in the clubhouse.
One night we even had a “pet social” — people brought treats, shared tips, and their dogs played. The resort is clearly pet-friendly, and it added a layer of joy to our vacation.
